This blog is a community based project that revolves around international issues and artistic response, to create an international body of artistic work (writing, photography, art, ideas) that responds to the major events going on in our World. Its purpose is to share ideas and our passions while becoming "enlightened global citizens."
Hey, my name's Frank and I attend James Madison University as well. I find it difficult to define, or explain myself as a person because I don't do it very often, but I'll try my best. Most of my day consists of working on my blog (www.imtsbro.com) and studying. I love surfing the Internet, and blogging about anything that I find interesting. Here's an excerpt from my website.
"I’m Totally Serious, Bro steals every interesting thing the internet has to offer, and puts it all into one place–all for your viewing pleasure. Keep yourself updated on tech, celebrity gossip, medical/scientific breakthroughs, financial news, and anything that could be at all interesting. If you’re as lazy as I am (which I know you are) you’ll enjoy having to exert the least amount of effort to stay up-to-date with the latest news.
I spend all day surfing the internet anyway…might as well do something with it."
My personality can best be summed up through the content of my website. It says everything about who I am. I'm weird, immature but striving to grow, slightly nerdy, and I love sharing knowledge with people who will turn a listening ear. I'm also pretty musical. I've been playing drums for about 6 years, and have been in a dozen bands, but have only played a handful of shows. Here's a YouTube link from my latest performance. It was JMU's Asian Student Union's 11th Annual Culture Show. But yea...sorry if this description sucks haha.
Check out my website here. Tell me what you think!
This is my first post on my first blog so I feel like some introductions are necessary. First of all my name isBecca Zuckerman, I'm a student as James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. This blog is a project for my Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communications class but its also an idea I've had for awhile now. This blog is meant to be a place where artists, writers and everyone in between can post ideas, artistic creations, and concerns about the world around them! Taking international issues as a basis for our artform we'll post responses and provide feedback for eachother. To demonstrate how this will work this first post will be a kind of practice. I'll provide a topic in this case: Introductions, post something that introduces you as an artist and a person, and then I'll post an artistic response and whoever reads it can do their own artistic introduction or comment on mine. Just to remind everyone that any medium is welcome I'm going to respond in a few different ways for this first post.
Me in a picture: one of my art forms is Lomography, film using toy cameras, this one was shot with a color flash holga 120
Me in a poem:
Beat
Beat: of a heart,
of a drum?
Of your drum heart, of my dumb heart of your body as you cum.
Beat, that heavy beat, that full of heat beat,
To
My
Knees!
BEGGING PLEASE move my feet beat.
Beat freak, beatnik, note taking sidekick, old school poet spitting Ginsberg style rhetoric. Pick up dirty habits mostly for the helluvit.
Beat up
Ate up
Stayed up
Beatnik.
BEAT. Beat out the big guys, floating up in high skies, beat: cause defeat to elitists on the high rise.
Beat, like tired. Like breaking down the wire, like tryin to keep the fire burning,
“baby you’re a liar”
---and I’m BEAT.
Beat like the sun beats down on my head, every day blonde head wishin it were red. Gonna beat up my shoes on this pavement til I’m dead, be a beatnik til I get kicked til that final notice says—that I’m BEAT.
